Scientific Evidence

The Oceans Protection Plan is being built on science, technology and traditional knowledge to protect Canada’s marine environment. This includes a new research program to bring scientists together to improve our understanding of how oil spills behave in water and how to best clean them up. It also includes enhancing ocean models to improve marine navigation, prevent accidents, and to allow emergency responders to track spills and predict their path.
