Canada’s transportation sector relies on, and benefits from, services provided by Transport Canada. This includes for example, the issuance of licences, authorizations, and certificates. Some services have been provided to individuals and industry free of charge while other services have not been updated in over 20 years and do not reflect what it really costs the department to deliver those services.
Over the next few years, we will:
introduce new fees
increase existing fees
streamline fees for some services
This will be done through changes to regulations. Fee modernization is part of a broader plan to:
modernize our laws, regulations, rules and standards; and
ensure we continue to:
uphold safety and security; and
support innovation in the transportation sector.
As we start modernizing our fees, we are asking for your feedback. To learn more, and to share your ideas, visit the current consultations in the right hand menu bar.
